Mission Statement
The Mission Statement is the basic, bottom-line mission of the church.

“To live as disciples of Christ,
seeking and sharing the abundant life of God.”

Value Statement
The Value Statement sets the boundaries of opportunity in which individuals and groups within the congregation can live out the Mission and Vision statements without having to get permission to act.

•We believe that worship is at the heart of all that we do. Through a variety of worship services, we unite ourselves with others to praise God, to hear God’s Word, to offer prayer, and to celebrate the sacraments.
• A commitment to Christian formation for all ages: We believe that hearing and learning God’s word through teaching and reflection will enable all our members to live out their Christian faith.
• We value opportunities for education and spiritual enrichment. It is vitally important to meet seekers of all ages and at any stage in their faith journey.
• A commitment to outreach and social justice: We seek to serve others beyond our parish with love and respect. We are committed to mission and outreach, promoting social justice, particularly in “hands-on” ways that strengthen relationships and transform lives.
• A commitment to small groups: We are committed to small-group ministry as an avenue for fellowship, learning and service, where individuals gain a sense of connection and lives are transformed.
• A commitment to growth: We are committed to the spiritual growth of individuals as well as the growth of our community of faith. We believe in spreading the good news of Christ our Lord.
• We believe in prayer: We are committed to prayer in our daily lives. We believe that the activities and ministries of our church should be guided by prayer.
• A commitment to quality: We seek to maintain a high standard in all of our ministries. This will be achieved when all are exercising their God-given spiritual gifts to the best of their abilities.
• We believe in good stewardship: We are called to be faithful stewards of the gifts received through God’s grace and love. We believe we must practice generosity with our time, talents and treasure as witness to God’s many blessings.
• A commitment to community:  We value a sense of community in our parish and are committed to caring for one another.  We strive to make newcomers and guests feel welcomed and included.
• A commitment to lay leadership:  Whenever possible, the ministries of this church will be carried out by non-ordained leaders.  This will be accomplished through practices that encourage lay initiative, leadership, responsibility, and authority in various ministries of the church.

Vision Statement
The Vision Statement is the narrow mission of the church. It is slightly longer and much more specific than the Mission Statement.

“We believe God has called us and equipped us to be Christ-centered in all we do:

To develop disciples, we will be known as a learning community that applies spiritual teachings to daily living.

To show how these teachings are central to our lives, we will all be committed to volunteer ministry and giving a percentage of our financial resources to God.

To increase the community of faith, we will freely share our faith stories with others.

To make a difference in transforming the world around us, we will be a center for developing compassionate leaders, who serve one another.”
