Confirmation by the Bishop
We also encourage baptized adults to be Confirmed. Confirmation is an opportunity to make a mature, public affirmation of faith before the bishop and the congregation. If you were baptized as an infant, this is a time to say for yourself the promises that others said on your behalf then. Adults prepare for confirmation through participation in the Catechumenate Program, which is a year-long process of Inquiry, Spiritual Discernment, and Spiritual Formation. Confirmations are held each year when the bishop visits Christ Church.

If you have been confirmed in another faith
If you have been confirmed in the Roman Catholic Church, the Eastern Orthodox Church, or certain other churches having bishops recognized by the Episcopal Church as being in the Apostolic Succession of Bishops, you do not have to be re-confirmed. You will be asked to participate in the Catechumenate Program and then be welcomed or received by the bishop into this branch of the Church as a confirmed member. (Any member — new or established — who wishes to reaffirm his or her baptismal/confirmational vows may participate in the Catechumenate Program and receive the bishop’s blessing.)
